About the Event
National Low Income Housing Coalition President and CEO Diane Yentel will share insights into how the pandemic exacerbated America’s housing crisis, accelerated racial inequities, and exposed significant gaps in our nation’s housing safety net. Long-term, structural reform, including universal housing assistance, is needed to help better prepare for the next crisis and to help end homelessness and housing poverty once and for all.
Learning outcomes:
- understand the underlying cause of America’s housing crisis and who is most severely impacted
- understand the impacts of the pandemic on housing insecurity and homelessness
- understand the significant gaps in federal housing protections and safety net systems
- understand the structural reforms needed at the federal level
- understand how universal housing assistance would help end homelessness and housing poverty
